I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately on how to apply and get accepted quickly into Liketoknowit / Rewardstyle, so today I’m answering how I got accepted the first time around and how it was so quick (under 2 months!)
Let’s start with the basics. What is RewardStyle? LTK (aka Liketoknowit) is an affiliate program that is run by Rewardstyle. Years ago, Liketoknowit was VERY exclusive and people would get denied left and right. In the past couple years, I’ve heard that LTK has become less exclusive and started accepting more people into the platform.
I started my Instagram in August 2018 and my blog emjacquelyn.com in September 2018 and then I got accepted into Rewardstyle / LiketoKnowit in October 2018. I’m listing some tips below so you can also get quickly accepted into Liketoknowit!
Here’s how to apply and get accepted quickly into Liketoknowit / Rewardstyle –
1. Start a blog and post 3-5 blog posts
This let’s Rewardstyle know that you’re taking it seriously. I would recommend posting 3-5 blogs before applying (I made sure that 3 were posted) and also posting them to your Instagram so that you start receiving some blog traffic.
2. Post shopping / fashion posts daily or every other day to Instagram
After creating an Instagram account, make sure you are posting on Instagram daily. I know it can be a struggle come up with tons of content when you’re first starting out, so if you don’t have time to post daily, then post every other day. You’ll also want to be posting fashion related posts such as outfit of the days, more of which I go into in tip #3.
3. Call out sales, retailers or prices in IG captions
Where did you buy the item? Is there a great sale from a retailer going on right now? Was an item recently restocked? Make sure you are providing your audience with something that helps or educates them.
3. Make sure you have a decent amount of Instagram followers, Instagram post likes, and Instagram posts
Getting likes and growing a following on Instagram is harder in 2020 than EVER. I used to easily get 100-500 likes when first starting in 2018 with way less effort, and now I have way more followers but get less likes per post!
With the algorithm, it takes a lot of work to get your content pushed to the right people at the right time and above macro influencers (influencers with above 10K). I get it, it’s super frustrating but do your best with hashtags, commenting back on your posts and engaging with others to increase your post visibility. I also had 922 followers and 55 Instagram posts prior to applying to Liketoknowit.
4. Make your IG feed is consistent & professional looking
Do you need a really expensive camera to get professional looking photos? I feel like a ton of bloggers say yes to this but my answer is Nope. In 2018 I took all my photos with an iPhone 4 then an iPhone 5. Now ALL my photos are taken with an iPhone 7+.
I have never used a camera for any of my blog or Instagram photos! iPhone 7+ also has portrait mode which you can use for a really clean looking photo. You’ll also want to make sure that you’re using a pre-set so that you’re feed looks consistent and not all over the place.
5. Join other affiliate programs
I’m planning on going further into this on a future blog post, but before I applied to LiketoKnow, I applied to Amazon Associates and ShopStyle. I have a blog post on those other affiliate programs here. They both work very similar, but are less inclusive. I also applied to Magic Links, another affiliate program which I got denied from lol. I You do NOT want to apply to Liketoknowit before you are ready and have completed tips 1-4 because then you could have to wait for 6+ months again to re-apply.
6. Ask for a referral from a current Rewardstyle member
Feel free to DM me on Instagram and get my details for a referral! I’m not 100% sure how successful these are, but I’ve heard of people being accepted into the Liketoknowit app based upon these.
If you’ve ever wondered how to become a LiketoKnowit influencer, I hope these tips helped and you get accepted into Liketoknowit. Be sure to check out my other blogging tips as well!
