Hey guys! I recently got back from a trip to Colorado, we went to Denver for a couple days then spent the week in Copper Mountain, right near Frisco, Colorado. I decided it would be the perfect time to post updated winter fashion looks and a few tips and tricks for what to pack—because it can be overwhelming, right? When you plan a vacation, the last thing you want to do is worry about what to wear and how to pack it.
Packing for a full week, especially in winter, seems so much more stressful than packing for warm-weather trips (at least it is for me!). I just toss a mini skirt and a pair of cute knee high boots in my suitcase and call it a day. Below I’m rounding up some autumn/winter outfit ideas for Colorado, what I wore during my trip, and what essentials you should pack for your trip.

What to Pack For a Trip to Colorado in the Winter
Hand Warmers
I love these electric hand warmers from Amazon. It’s the perfect thing to bring with you since you’ll probably be participating in tons of fun, cold weather activities.
Boots (Sorels)
So glad I packed Sorel’s to wear during my trip. The ones I listed originally have sold out. But they have a huge selection of boots to choose from—you really can’t go wrong with any of them.
I rarely splurge on clothes/accessories (thanks, Amazon!) but shoes are something I’ll spend a little more on. I swear by my Sorels because they last for years and years. I packed this pair for snowshoeing and this pair because they are cute to go out to the bars in. These were my go-to because they also have grips on the bottom (I rarely wore my Uggs), which I was SO glad for because Colorado was icy and snowy AF—Uggs wouldn’t have that grip I needed. If you live somewhere warmer and don’t want to splurge on Sorels, I found some cute Sorel lookalikes on Amazon.
AirPods Look-Alike Headphones
I’ve been swearing by these $40 AirPods lookalikes from Amazon. They’re not complete lookalikes, (these headphones come in a handful of fun colors), but they’re similar enough. I love them because they have smart touch control and show you the battery life on the case.
Gloves
I grabbed these gloves that you can text with from Amazon before I left and wore them during my trip. They aren’t SUPER warm, but they are super cute. They make it easy to pull out your phone and snap a few pictures without having to take your gloves off and risk freezing your hands lol.
Warm Winter Coat
When I was packing for Colorado, I knew I wanted to pack a warm jacket. So I brought my Amazon one. Even if you’re not going to Colorado, a warm coat is a winter wardrobe necessity. If you’re looking for more affordable winter coats, I also have a round up of my favorite ones here.
Beanies
I purchased two different beanies before my trip because they each serve different purposes—one’s super fashionable and the other one is warm! This one is cool because it has a detachable fluffball at top, so you can wear it as totally different hat and it’s also really easy to travel with. This one I loved because the inside is lined with fur, so it keeps you warm and cozy for all of your outdoor activities.
Sunglasses
These sunglasses from Amazon were the only sunglasses I ended up bringing on the trip. I’m always gravitating towards these (even over my Rayban pairs) because they are super flattering on the face. The UV protection is also incredibly important for sun protection—just because it’s cold out there doesn’t mean the reflection of the snow won’t burn your eyes! If you want a couple more cute and affordable options, check out this Amazon list!
Comfy slippers
I’ve been LIVING in these Ugg lookalikes from Amazon lately. They are SO soft and padded, it honestly feels like you’re walking on a cloud. This is another thing I don’t regret buying whatsoever.
Tumi Dupe Backpack
This backpack is my #1 purchase from Amazon, of all time. It’s nylon, such good quality, and I use it every time I travel for my carry-on and also daily for work. It’s great when you’re on the go from state to state, or if you’re just carrying your stuff from your house to a coffee shop nearby.
Baseball Cap
Don’t forget, Colorado is closer to the sun! Not only that, but apparently it gets around 300 days of sunshine a year. Holllyyy cow. This means more intense UV rays and a much higher likelihood of getting sunburns and not even realizing it. Just for a simple, everyday hat, I love this one from Amazon. It’s easy to style with anything and it’s perfect for those days you’re gonna be outside in casual or athletic wear.
Sun Protection
Speaking of being closer to the sun, you need sunblock. I brought two different kinds on my trip. This Neutrogena SPF is perfect for easy face application, and this SPF is good for whole body application. Even though you’re probably not gonna be showing a whole lot of skin, it’s better to be safe rather than sorry.
Hiking Pants
If you plan on doing hiking while you’re in Colorado, you need a good pair of hiking pants. You don’t want anything that’s super restrictive, too bulky, or too thin. As chilly as it is, you’re inevitably gonna warm up if you’re outdoors and hiking. Oh, and of course, you can’t forget a good pair of affordable hiking boots (or high-quality walking shoes).
Bathing Suit
I know what you’re thinking. A bathing suit in Colorado? If you’re staying somewhere with a hot tub, then absolutely! I love this cute neutral bikini from Amazon, plus I can use reuse it during the summer, of course.
Water Bottle
Emotional support water bottle, anyone? I’m a huge fan of carrying around a water bottle regardless of where I’m at. But if you’re gonna be doing a lot of physical activities on your trip, you need to hydrate. I love this water bottle because it’s cute and it keeps your water freezing cold.
