Fall Work Outfits To Refresh Your Wardrobe
Whenever it’s time to upgrade your work wardrobe, there’s an even mix of excitement and stress. It’s like you know you can find stuff to fall in love with, but it’s just not worth the triple digit price tag. I was so over the stress and wanted to help out all my fellow girls who, like me, are struggling to find something that’s both cute and affordable.
From chic tailored blazers to cozy matching sets, this list has something for everyone to enjoy. Shopping for fall work outfits is hard enough—a little inspiration can go a long way.

Loose Overcoat, Jeans, and Long-Sleeve Shirt

Cute and cozy? Sign me up! If there’s one thing I’ve learned (which you’ll come to see soon), a good oversized coat can truly do wonders for a fall work outfit. Even if you’re wearing a handful of basics underneath, it instantly makes the entire look feel refined.
For this outfit, I kept it simple. A pair of simple light washed relaxed jeans, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a pair of wedge booties is really all you need. This look is the perfect blend of comfort and style, making it super easy to wear on repeat all throughout the season.
Long Overcoat, Balloon-Sleeve Crewneck, and Flare Pants

If you love leaning into those moody fall tones, this look is right up your alley. The monochromatic blend of grays and blacks transforms this outfit into something that you’ll find yourself always reaching for during the work week.
Flare pants are a much-needed switch-up from traditional black slacks that we (very quickly) grow tired of for work wear. And here’s a tip I learned along the way: you don’t have to wear an uncomfortable heel if you don’t want to! These pointed toe flats are the perfect compromise—they look very sleek and modern but they’re sooo comfy.
Faux Fur Coat, Mock Neck Pullover, and Slim Flare Jeans

If you’ve never worn a faux fur coat, you’re seriously missing out. This is an instant go-to for me alllll fall long—work wear or not. It feels as luxurious as it looks, and it goes great with pretty much everything.
For the top, I chose a simple mock neck pullover. And honestly, when you’re wearing a statement piece like this coat, all you really need is a simple top! For the bottoms, I kept it cohesive with slim flare jeans and a cute pointed-toe slingback. Sleek, cozy, and perfect to wear to work in the fall.
Short-Sleeve Sweater Top and High-Waisted Pants

For those of you who have been following along with the blog, you know that I love this look. It seriously works for so many different occasions. The clean lines keep things structured, and the even blend of black and white looks extremely cohesive.
The sweater top is great for early fall days when the transitional temps make outfit planning hard. Even though the knit material makes it cozy, the short sleeves keep things breathable and lightweight. And to match the vibe, these palazzo pants add a little flowy shape that balances everything perfectly. Grab a pair of white sneakers and you’re good to go!

Brown and black outfits don’t get nearly as much love as they should. I feel like it was a huge “fashion faux pas” to pair black and brown together at one point, but fortunately that’s no longer the case! (Honestly, why was that ever even a thing?).
This work outfit just screams fall to me. The brown pants are an easy addition to add when we’re constantly reaching for other neutrals or typical denim styles. And on top, all you really need is a sleek black long-sleeve! I wore white sneakers to keep the look casual, but you can also wear pointed-toe flats or a cute pair of heels. See this post for more ways to style brown pants!
Oversized Crewneck and Crop Jeans

There’s nothing more I love than when a handful of staple pieces come together to create something as chic as this. Not only does it make outfit planning a breeze, but it’s also so easy to get a TON of use out of each piece. You can mix and match every single item with something different for a whole new vibe.
But for a cute fall work outfit, this look really does it for me. The white crewneck is perfectly oversized, the crop jeans add a fun modern twist, and don’t even get me started on the brown booties. I’m obsessed.
Two-Piece Suit Set and Tube Top

I love when I can find a matching set in general, but when I can find one a work-appropriate matching set? It’s game-changing. I looooove this look and will find any excuse to wear it. Now, let’s talk a little bit about the outfit.
The blazer and matching tailored pants feel like a modern revamp of a classy, powerful suit. It’s fun, it’s cute, and it’s extremely flattering. It also comes in a ton of different colors, so don’t count it out if green isn’t your vibe!
Sleeveless Sweater and Wide-Leg Pants

Fall is the season for browns and tans, and I’m here for it. And when it comes to this look, I have a few different things to say. One, a monochrome outfit always looks polished and refined. It’s the perfect throw-on-and-go set that looks intentional and well-styled. Secondly, I love creating outfits with pieces that you wouldn’t typically pair together.
The beauty of shopping on Amazon is that you get to pull up a ton of different pieces and visualize how they would fit together. The way two flowy fabrics are able to seamlessly blend together? It’s too good.
Wide-Leg Pants and Square-Neck Bodysuit

When you’re stumped on outfit ideas and need a little guidance, here’s a tip: pair a tight top with loose pants. It never fails. And, again, this is yet another look that really incorporates that autumnal color palette. But that’s what makes fall fashion fun!
For this outfit, I wore this (surprisingly super comfy) wide-leg palazzo pants. You can grab them in a variety of colors, but I love that brown-but-gray blend. And, for the top, I kept things simple with a square-neck bodysuit that will flatter anyone. It also makes accessorizing a breeze—both long and short necklaces would complement the look perfectly.
Mock Neck Cap-Sleeve Sweater and Crop Jeans

Two pieces we’ve already played with before: a sleeveless sweater and crop jeans. But, now we’re putting them together to create an easy, work-friendly, laid-back look. See what I mean about finding versatile pieces that you can pair with anything? It makes outfit planning so much more convenient.
The nice thing about this sleeveless sweater is that it actually has cap-sleeves! I know sometimes when wearing other styles of sleeveless sweaters, the sleeves tend to droop throughout the day and feel a little too casual. In this case, the look remains structured and chic all day long.
Half-Zip Pullover and Crop Jeans

This look is for the girls who struggle to find cute and cozy outfits for casual Friday’s (or just want a casual work outfit regardless.)
This half-zip is the definition of cozy comfort. You can’t completely tell from the picture, but the texture is actually this super soft fabric that has a lot of give to it. I wore it zipped up, but you can also toss on a tank top underneath if you think you’ll warm up throughout the day. To keep the casual look cohesive, pair it with crop jeans and Veja sneakers!
Ribbed Pullover and Crop Jeans

Not a fan of the half-zip? No problem! Switch it out for a cozy ribbed crewneck instead. As cozy as it is, it’s also extremely lightweight and breathable. This keeps you from overheating if temps do start to rise in the afternoon. Also? It makes it super easy to tuck. You won’t feel like you’re fighting with bulky fabric or having to re-tuck at the slightest movement.
And when I tell you guys that they have SO many different color options… I mean it. There are so many to choose from (and I might have grabbed a handful of different colors myself.) To keep this look casual once again, I paired it with a classic pair of light wash crop jeans and a clean pair of sneakers.
High-Waisted Pants and Shoulder Pad Crop Top

Another top with shoulder pads is here to make an appearance—they really are perfect for work wear. This is especially true if you’re wearing an inherently casual top! The padded shoulders help to keep things fresh and structured.
And, you can’t really tell in the picture, but these pants are actually a fun mint green! They look a lot brighter on the actual product picture, but don’t let this dissuade you. They’re super cute and easily wearable, almost looking like a lighter, almost tan green. Even if you’re not a huge fan of the color, there are so many other options on Amazon!
High-Neck A-Line Sweater Dress

Some days you wanna wear a dress without looking too formal, and that’s exactly what this outfit is for. It’s a much more casual approach to work-friendly dresses, making it easy to pair with anything from white sneakers to a chic pair of sandals.
Even though it says it’s a sweater dress, the fabric is really lightweight and breathable. (We’ve all worn those super heavy and bulky sweater dresses that we can’t wait to get off.) Trust me, this isn’t that! If you do get chilly throughout the day, just slip on a cardigan or a relaxed blazer to keep things chic and polished.
Houndstooth Pants and Ruffle Tee

Hear me out: patterns can be a much-needed addition to your regular work wear wardrobe. They’re fun, make a statement, and can pair with almost anything (so long as they have neutral tones like these.) Unfortunately, these specific houndstooth pants have sold out, but you can shop a super similar style here!
When you wear pants with a bold pattern like this, you really want to keep everything else pretty simple. For example, I love the way this ruffle tee pairs with the pants. It doesn’t take any attention away, but the ruffle sleeves add a little extra visual interest.
Midi Skirt and Halter Top

This is another one of those outfits that looks really put-together but doesn’t look overly formal. And honestly, you can always count on a flowy midi skirt to nail that vibe! I also really love the floral print—it doesn’t feel too chaotic or too plain.
For the top, a tucked-in halter top hits that sweet spot for transitional fall temps. You can slide the blazer off when you start to warm up, or you can leave it on and keep it draped over if you’re cold! Or, if you’d prefer to keep your shoulders covered regardless, just swap out the halter top for a slim-fitting white long-sleeve!
Two-Piece Mock Neck and Wide-Leg Set

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it a thousand more times—I will absolutely add a matching set to my cart every. single. time. This entire look took me a handful of minutes to throw on and style, but it looks so effortlessly put-together.
I also love the deep green shade. It isn’t too light to stand out as a more spring- or summer-appropriate shade, and it doesn’t feel like that true Christmas green either. (Color enthusiasts, you get what I mean.)
Cardigan Sweater, High-Waisted Pants, and Short-Sleeve Bodysuit

I had to make a second look with these green-toned pants, because why not? When you’re looking to add a little bit more of a cozy vibe to the look, switch out the padded shoulder tank for short sleeves and a cardigan!
I feel like a cardigan is the ultimate cozy weather statement piece. It always looks intentional, doesn’t feel too casual, and can complete any look you pair it with. I especially love when I can find an oversized cardigan that still has a little structure to it. If you’re in the same boat, add this to your cart ASAP.
Cropped Paper Bag Pants and Ruffle Tee

Another look with this ruffle tee because I will always unapologetically create as many looks out of one piece as possible. (That’s the goal here though, right?!). These paper bag pants (yeah, that’s their actual name), are some of my go-to’s. I can vouch for their quality—they ARE as comfy as they look.
Shop with Amazon to make work wear easy and fun again!
I feel like I can speak for everyone when I say that we’ve all spent way too much time giving energy to the wrong pieces. They’re always either too expensive or just overall not the vibe you’re going for, which can make shopping for work wear challenging and aggravating. But, thanks to Amazon, it’s easier than ever to find high-quality pieces at an affordable price. Shopping should be fun—let this post be a testament to that!
