Aruba is hands-down one of my favorite vacation spots, and not just because it’s the sunniest Caribbean island. (Though that was a plus, too!). The beaches are absolutely beautiful, the activities are endless, and the food is incredible. But, for all the fashion girlies, you know that packing and planning outfits is one of the best parts.
My Aruba outfits consisted mostly of coverups and swimsuits, but I did wear some super cute rompers and dresses out for dinner and drinks. I unfortunately didn’t snap any pictures of these, but don’t worry. I’m gonna include a few outfit ideas to hopefully inspire your packing list for your trip to Aruba!
With that said, today’s post is dedicated to outfits I wore in Aruba and outfits I didn’t personally wear, but I think would suit the vibes perfectly. Make sure to stay tuned until the end for a few packing tips to help streamline your whole process.

What I Wore in Aruba
Don’t get me wrong, I love packing for vacation in general. Hence my posts like, “What to Wear to the Beach,” and “What to Wear in Puerto Rico.” But packing for Aruba just felt different—in the best way. There’s this relaxed, tropical vibe that calls for fun patterns, unique designs, and most importantly, comfort.
This is the trip you wanna leave denim jackets and structured blazers behind on. Instead, reach for your woven textures, crochet pieces, and a pair of easy-going flip-flops. Aruba’s all about figuring out how to blend style and comfort.
Once you’re done outfit planning, make sure to check out “Where to Eat in Aruba” and “Things to Do in Aruba.” Consider these three posts your guide on all things Aruba—we’re not leaving anything out.

What to Wear in Aruba
One-Piece Cut-Out Swimsuit and Coverup
Outfit Details: coverup (shop a similar style here) // one piece swimsuit (shop a similar style here) // sunglasses
Sometimes you want a little more from a bathing suit, which is exactly why I love this one-piece so much. It’s cute, simple to style, and sooo fun to wear. It adds that perfect tropical touch to a day spent in Aruba.
For the time I spent walking around and exploring the beach, this lightweight coverup was perfect. It wasn’t thick or heavy whatsoever, so it didn’t even feel like I was wearing a second layer. You could also wear it while you’re walking through the resort or heading up to grab meal. It provides just the right amount of coverage.
High-Waisted Two-Piece Bikini
Outfit Details: high waisted bikini // sunglasses (shop a similar style here)
In the mood for something cute and easy? There’s nothing better than a strapless, high-waisted two piece. Plus, black goes with everything. You could add on a coverup, throw on a hat, or wear a fun colored pair of sunglasses without worrying about colors clashing.
If you do want to spice things up, this brand has a TON of different styles and prints to choose from. And, don’t worry—this isn’t one of those suits that will slip and slide with every move you make. But Aruba’s waters tend to be pretty calm anyways, so you won’t have to stress too much regardless.
High-Waisted Bikini and Crochet Dress
Outfit Details: coverup // high waisted bikini // sunglasses (shop a similar style here)
I’m wearing the same bikini you just saw before, but I just added a super cute coverup over it! I feel like nothing screams Aruba quite like a crotchet piece with a relaxed silhouette, which is why I had to add this to my cart ASAP.
If you’re someone who wears your bikini sun up to sun down on vacation—you also NEED this coverup. It’s so easy toss on and head out no matter what you have on your itinerary. With the right accessories and a cute pair of sandals, you honestly can’t even tell that it’s a coverup. It just looks like a cute vacay dress.
Tank Top, Shorts, and Sneakers

Outfit Details: loose tank top // shorts // nike sneakers // sunglasses
Headed out for the day to explore Aruba? You really don’t need anything too extravagant. I kept things simple (and comfortable) with a flowy tank, stretchy shorts, and a solid pair of Nike sneakers.
Remember, comfort is everything if your day is booked any busy. And I don’t mean “exploring the city” busy, I mean “walking through national parks” busy. Think about temperatures, how much you’ll be walking, and how each piece will feel once you start to heat up.
Polka Dot One-Piece

Outfit Details: polka-dot high waisted swimsuit // sunglasses
This swimsuit looks like a bikini, but it’s actually a one-piece! It has a super cute lace-up detail in the back, which I love for that extra peace of mind. And of course, the polka dots add a fun visual touch that I’m obsessed with.
The style is actually considered “Brazilian High Cut,” which means it has that cheeky look to it. In my opinion, though, it’s really not as cheeky as some other options. It doesn’t have TOTAL coverage, but you also won’t feel like you’re wearing anything too revealing.
Striped Color Block One Piece

outfit details: sunglasses // one piece swimsuit (shop a similar style here)
The bathing suit I’m wearing in the picture has unfortunately sold out, but don’t stress just yet! This one I linked to above looks pretty similar, except the stripes are on top instead of the bottom. The top also has a super cute wrapped detail that adds a unique touch.
I also love this one piece so much that I can’t not include it. It has a really pretty color block style, those stripes I love so much, and a fun mesh detail on the stomach. No matter which option you choose, you’ll look and feel great in it.
Snakeskin One Piece

outfit details: sunglasses // snakeskin one piece bathing suit
If there’s one print I really love, it’s snakeskin. It’s had a few particularly high-traffic moments in fashion, but it’s never completely gone out of style. And for good reason! It’s chic, eye-catching, and easy to wear no matter where you go.
This is another one of those swimsuits that looks like it’s a two-piece, but has a convenient lace-up detail in the back. I personally had to size up one from my typical size, so make sure you take this into consideration before buying! And, if you love that one-piece disguised as a two-piece style, you’ll love all the different color options and prints this brand offers.
Two-Piece with Matching Coverup

outfit details: sunglasses // coverup (shop a similar style here)
This cute coverup is the star of the show here. There are so many different styles, fabrics, colors, and prints to choose from, which makes finding a coverup for each look so fun. And honestly? They’re not super expensive! It’s an easy way to elevate any tropical look.
I always love a cute matching moment, so I paired a black skirt-style coverup with a simple black bikini. But, don’t feel like you can’t add a fun pop of color. If you wanna switch things up, check out all the different styles and patterns this specific brand offers!
Outfit Inspo for Your Trip to Aruba
Crochet Two-Piece Set

This crochet set is gorgeous, and it feels like the perfect thing to take with you to Aruba. It’s one of those throw-on-and-go looks that looks intentional and chic. Even better? You don’t need to accessorize too much—the outfit speaks for itself. You can also throw it over a bathing suit and use it as a coverup! That just means more room for other pieces.
Lightweight Pleated Set

If you’ve been following me for a while, then you know how many times I talk about versatile outfits. You know a look is the best of the best when you can wear to anything you may have planned. And for this look specifically, it works great for walking through the town, catching a quick lunch, or covering up on your way to and from the beach. The light jacket in particular is great for Aruba—it’s not too hot and works well for chilly early mornings or breezy nighttime drinks.
Floral Cowl Neck Dress

Looking for the perfect dress for dinner and drinks? Look no further, this one is perfect to wear in Aruba. First off, it’s super lightweight. So even if you attend dinner outside or take the drinks beachside for sunset, you won’t feel like you’re overheating. Second, the pink and floral combo is stunning. Pair it with heels for dinner, or throw on a cute pair of sandals if you plan to walk around a bit.
Linen Jumpsuit

If you want that refined element of an outfit but don’t feel like slipping into a dress, I completely get it. That’s why this wide-leg linen jumpsuit is always a must-bring when I go on vacation, especially in a tropical location like Aruba. Not only is it super comfortable and breathable, but it also maintains structure and style.
Ruffle Maxi Dress

Obsessed doesn’t even do this dress justice—it’s SO flattering and comfortable. It has just the right amount of stretch without compromising on fit and structure. I personally love this shade of green because it feels tropical and beachy. But, you can find it in a darker green, red, tan, or black if you prefer a different color.
Packing Tips for Aruba
Baseball Hat
Whatever you do, pack a baseball hat. I wish I has packed one when I went! It would have been perfect for our hike up Hooiberg Mountain. Also, warning—Aruba is SUPER windy. Like MUCH winder than I had anticipated. I brought a sun hat, but it kept falling blowing off me. It also can get pretty hot when you’re hiking or laying out on the beach, so a baseball cap is perfect both.
Portable Fan
If there’s one thing you’ll want but won’t think about until you get there, it’s a portable fan. Aruba tends to have pretty regular temperatures compared to other tropical oases, but it still gets hot. Especially if you’re taking part in any physical activity or roasting under the sun all day. I really love this portable fan because it has three speeds and a battery that lasts up to 10 hours.
Good Beach Read
There’s nothing more relaxing than laying out on the beach, listening to the waves, and losing yourself in a good book. And look, I may or may not have reread The Summer I Turned Pretty a handful of times… (I definitely have. It’s one of my favorites.) Not a huge fan of paper books? No big deal—bring a kindle!
High-Quality SPF
You NEEEED sunscreen—this isn’t debatable. I know how much we all love a good, fresh tan, but you can still get one with sunscreen. I personally won’t go into the sun without it, especially if I’m surrounded by water. EltaMD is my go-to option—I love how it contains Zinc Oxide and zero fragrance.
Digital Camera
Digital camera pictures are everything on social media right now. And honestly, they make such fun keepsakes afterwards, too. You can always take pictures with your phone, but a digital camera is perfect for getting those candid, authentic shots.
Refillable Water Bottle
You can always buy a case of waters, but that’s not always convenient. Plus, if you’ve ever taken a plastic water bottle down to the beach, you know it’s warm in minutes. And drinking warm water on an already hot beach? No thanks. Beat the heat and quench your thirst with an insulated water bottle instead.
Beach Bag
Last but certainly not least, you can’t forget your beach bag! I feel like honestly, any woven hobo bag is perfect for the beach. Regardless of what bag you bring, make sure that it’s big enough to fit all of your essentials!
Pack for your trip to Aruba with style and intention.
