I don’t know about you guys, but I’m not the biggest fan of wearing jean shorts in the spring and summer. Sometimes it feels like every single pair looks the same, right? There’s different washes, styles, and cuts, but they don’t always create that “statement outfit” vibe I’m going for.
But skirts and dresses? Now that’s a different conversation! When in doubt, I’ll always reach for those cozy and casual dresses or skirts because I know they’ll never disappoint. They’re fun to style, super versatile, and look great no matter what your plans for the day are. And the best part? Every single skirt and dress I have are affordable, practical, and easy to wear on repeat.
That’s why today, I’m sharing a roundup of my favorite Amazon skirts and dresses that are as budget-friendly as they are chic. Ready to give your summer wardrobe the upgrade it deserves?

Amazon Casual Spring and Summer Dresses and Skirts
Nobody talks about the reality of trying to plan outfits in warmer weather. You want to make a statement and look cute doing it, but you also don’t want to feel weighed down by fabric as the sun is beating down on you with full force.
That’s why it was super important to me to include styles that everyone will love. From tennis dresses to flowy maxi skirts, this post makes it easy to find a dress or skirt that suits your lifestyle, fits your aesthetic, and looks good every single time you put it on.

Casual Spring and Summer Dresses
Tennis Dress and Denim Shirt

I loooove tossing a lightweight layer over a casual dress in the spring and summer. Not only does it elevate the entire look, but you can also just slip the layer off when it starts to get too hot.
You can definitely wear a denim jacket (stay tuned for a denim jacket look below), but I opted for this denim shirt, instead. It’s a little bit lighter and more breathable, making it ideal for those mid-summer temps.
Square-Neck Tennis Dress and Striped Button-Down
Another piece I love layering on top of a casual dress? A striped button-down. I talked about this outfit in my Charleston outfit guide post, and it’s a look I wear, honestly, as much as I can. It just gives off that “beach town chic” vibe perfectly.
The aesthetic of this look isn’t even the best part. This square-neck tennis dress also comes with built-in shorts! And, as you all know, I can’t resist an outfit that’s cute AND practical. Toss on some sneakers and you’re ready to go.
Loose V-Neck Sundress with Pockets

If you’ve been dreaming of one of those light, easy-to-wear Free People dresses but can’t justify the price tag—I’m right there with you! That’s why I instantly fell in love with this loose sundress.
It has a very relaxed, oversized structure, but it doesn’t feel too oversized. (As in you won’t feel like you’re hiding underneath fabric when you wear it—we’ve all experienced a flowy dress like that.) I wore a pair of Converse to keep it casual and laid-back, but you can always toss on a pair of wedges or heels to dress things up a little more.
Sleeveless Athletic Mini Dress

I’ve probably said this in every post about summer and spring clothing and I’ll say it again—there’s NO better time to pull out your fun, bright colors. I’m obsessed with the shade of this dress. It isn’t that in-your-face neon yellow, but it also doesn’t feel too subdued, either.
It’s perfect for those warm days when you wanna beat the heat and look cute doing it. And, of course, this is another look that has those hidden shorts. Whether you wear sneakers or sandals, this is the perfect laid-back look for warm weather.
Mini Floral Babydoll Dress

This is another outfit I picked up for my trip to Charleston and I’ve gotten sooo much use (and so many complements!) out of it. It’s casual enough to dress down with the right accessories, but easy enough to dress up if the occasion calls for it.
I just really love how unique it is. Between the floral print and the puff sleeves, you’ll feel that main character energy every time you put it on.
Black Spaghetti Strap Tennis Dress

There’s nothing better than those throw-on-and-go outfits, especially when it comes to warm weather. You don’t have to put too much thought in what to wear and it looks cute every single time.
And honestly? This is a dress you can get so much use out of. You can wear it all the way into the fall months by simply adding a cute cardigan or cozy jacket. My mindset is the more use I can get out of a piece, the better!
White Spaghetti Strap Tennis Dress

Love the black dress but want something a little bit brighter? Get it in white! White always looks great with a fresh tan, and it’s super easy to mix and match with other colors.
So, even though I went for an easy and simple white-on-white look, you can spice things up with a few pops of color. From shoes and accessories to bags and hats, there are plenty of ways to add a personal touch and make it really feel like you.
Crew Neck Tennis Dress

This dress is IT when you want a cute and sporty look that doesn’t lean too far into that athleisure vibe. (Like, you don’t feel like your outfit screams gym-appropriate and gym-appropriate only.)
The crew neck cut is a fun switch-up from the classic spaghetti strap style that most tennis dresses have. And, not only does it feature built-in shorts, but it also has pockets. Does it get any better than that?
Athletic Two-Piece Dress

Calling all Free People fans again, this is a dress I seriously can’t get enough of. This isn’t just your average tennis dress—it has a billowy style, built-in bra, and separate pair of matching shorts.
That said, it’s perfect if your day may go from “casual and chill” to “adventurous and on the go.” It’s a great approach if you love the comfort of athleisure wear but want something a little bit more structured and refined.
2-in-1 Golf Dress with Shorts

This dress is too good. Even though it’s designed to have more of that athletic-style appeal, you wouldn’t even know unless you read the description! I love how the top of the dress is slim-fitting and structured, and the bottom has a little bit of flow and bounce to it.
With a built-in romper and roomy side pockets, this outfit is as practical as it is cute. Wear it with sneakers, sandals, or even a pair of cute wedges!
Casual Spring and Summer Skirts
Chiffon Maxi Skirt and Denim Vest
One word: obsessed. And honestly, obsessed doesn’t even do this outfit justice. This is yet another look I took to Charleston and it made me feel like I fit right into the style and coastal culture.
I love how perfectly the structure of the denim vest balances out the flowy maxi skirt. It’s so easy to throw on, and it’s versatile for whatever vibe you’re going for. Pair it with sandals and an easy hairstyle for casual strolls around town, or, wear heels/wedges and the right amount of accessories for more up-scale settings.
Bodycon Split Skort and Short-Sleeve Tee
I love the look of a mini skirt, but it doesn’t always feel like the most practical option. You wanna look cute but you don’t want to have to pull and tug on your outfit all day, right?
Grab this high-waisted skirt with built-in shorts and boom, problem-solved! You still look just as cute, you just don’t have to worry about how the outfit looks on you as you move throughout the day. For a cute and casual look, just pair it with a simple solid-color tee and a pair of sneakers!
Ruffle Mini Skirt and Denim Vest
Sometimes the weathers just too warm for a flowy maxi skirt, and I get it. You want to wear as little as possible without sacrificing style and sophistication. That’s why there’s truly nothing better than this high-waisted boho mini skirt.
The tiered style makes it a super cute statement piece, and the denim vest pairs with it just as easily. I love the way these suede boots tie the whole look together, but feel free to swap them out for sandals if you’re worried about heating up during the day.
Denim Wrap Skirt and Open Back Tee
When your summer wardrobe needs a new flirty yet functional upgrade, look no further than this denim skort. Instead of being one that shifts and turns with every step, it’s comfortable and super well-fitting.
Just looking at the front of the shirt, you’d have no idea that it has a super cute open-back style. And, not only does this elevate your outfit, but it’s really great for the spring and summer time when maximum breathability is essential.
Ruffle Butterfly Mini Skirt and Open-Back Tee
Sooo this outfit looks like a skirt, but it’s actually a pair of shorts designed to look like a skirt. Which if you ask me, makes it even better. The layered design and pretty floral pattern complement the open-back top so well—especially if you want an outfit that leans more dressy-causal.
If you’re wearing this look in the slightly cooler springtime temps, add on a pair of suede knee-high boots! But if you’re wearing it in the peak of summer, I definitely recommend the sandals for breathability and comfort.
Tube Top and Denim Mini Skirt
This outfit features the perfect pop of yellow that just screams warm temps and good times. Like the yellow dress shown earlier, it’s not too bright or too muted, making it perfect to pair with a light wash denim skirt.
Another great thing about this outfit is how easily it can pair with other neutrals! For example, you can wear anything from white sandals to brown sandals to tan wedges—they all look complement the light tones of the look perfectly.
Chiffon Maxi Skirt and Denim Halter Tank Top
Not a fan of the denim vest featured earlier but wanna join in on the trend? Maybe a cute denim halter tank is more your vibe! It has a little bit less structure than the vest, but still balances out the flowy maxi skirt perfectly.
All you need to complete the look is a pair of neutral-toned sandals and a cute, practical bag. Wear it anywhere concerts and rodeos to dinner and drinks! It’s sure to make a statement and turn heads.
Denim Mini Skirt and Cap-Sleeve Crop Top
When in doubt, throw on a chic denim skirt and a simple crop tee. These are both summer capsule wardrobe staples to me—they make creating outfits super quick and easy.
This is another one of those looks that, even though it’s really simple and casual, look great just about anywhere. As I’ve mentioned with other looks above, your shoe choice is entirely up to preference. If it’s too hot for boots, wear sandals. If you aren’t in the mood for sandals, wear sneakers! Switch your shoes and watch your outfit transform each time.
Square-Neck Tank, Micro Skort, and Denim Jacket
Anddd here’s that denim jacket look I talked about in the beginning of this post! Ideal for early summer or late spring temps, you can never go wrong with layering with a denim jacket. They’re perfect for giving your outfit an edgy, intentional touch.
Underneath, I’m wearing a square-neck tank and matching black mini skirt. It creates a minimalistic and monochrome outfit that will flatter anybody and stun in any setting.
Mini Wrap Skort and Ribbed Knit Sleeveless Top
Going on a spring or summer vacation and want an outfit that gives off all the right vibes? There’s nothing better than a mini wrap skirt and knit tube top. But, we’re not just pairing any skirt and tube top together—both pieces have unique details that make everything feel much more intentional and refined.
The skirt has a really cute knot belt that looks sooo good with the twisted knot on the top. Both details are already cute on their own, but complement each other so well when paired together.
Chiffon Maxi Skirt and Tube Top
One last look with this flowy maxi dress—it’s just too good not to include again! For the ultimate statement outfit that maintains a laid-back and relaxed vibe, just pair your skirt with a tube top!
It doesn’t feel too dressy or overdone, but it also doesn’t look overly casual, either. I wore flip flops to really emphasize the aesthetic, but you can wear sandals, sneakers, or even cute boots.
High-Waisted Mini Skirt and Tube Top
This outfit takes two pieces that I’ve raved about multiple times throughout this post—the high-waisted mini skirt and simple tube top. It’s simple, breathable, cute, cohesive—it does it all.
I love the way the Converse balance out the color in the top, but feel free to get creative and switch things up if you go with a different colored top.
Stay cool, comfortable, and chic all summer long with casual dresses and skirts!
With warmer weather comes the opportunity to create SO many different chic outfits. From sporty athleisure wear to put-together looks for concerts or dinners, there’s nothing a cute skirt or dress can’t do. And, the best part is you don’t have to break the bank to upgrade your closet! Each piece mentioned is both affordable and super high-quality. Which outfit was your favorite? I’d love to talk about it in the comments below!
