Whether it’s a good bag, or fashion find, there’s nothing I enjoy more than a good dupe. And makeup is no exception. While there’s many makeup products I love (and WILL pay full price for), these makeup dupes are just as good, and many achieve the same high-end look. I mean, why pay full price, when you can pay just a fraction? Below I’m rounding up my favorite makeup dupes under $8 for 2020 so you can achieve the same look for less!
Bronzer
Dupe: Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer$8
Full-Price: Nars Laguna Bronzer $40
After swearing by Too Faced Deep Chocolate Solleil bronzer for years, I was super upset when they discontinued it recently. They actually changed the formula into a matte one – and while I haven’t tried it, each and every review HATED it. Not one single positive, or even semi-positive review. Thinking of what new bronzer I could try, I thought back to the Nars bronzer in the shade Laguna, which I actually used to use during college but stopped because of the price. It’s like $40! I felt like I was constantly running out, and I just couldn’t afford it. I had heard good things about Physicians Formula butter bronzer and decided to try it out. And let me tell you, I love it! I’m super picky about bronzer because a lot will make you look orange, or just got give you any color. Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is perfect because it gives you a nice, rich shade that’s super buildable. If you’re very light-skinned, I would opt for the ‘light’ color. I always want my face to match my skin (I use this self tanner), so I use Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer shade ‘bronzer’. It’s also less than $8 so it’s super affordable, not to mention it smells like chocolate!
Face Powder
Dupe: Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder$5
Full-Price: Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder$38
Guys, this is one is a STEAL. If you don’t know what loose face powder is, it’s a powder to set your face after you apply your foundation and concealer. It minimizes your face becoming shinny – and oil build up throughout the day. It also helps with setting your makeup, so that your makeup lasts longer throughout the day. Is it necessary? 100%. I always feel like I end up touching my face a lot throughout the day and it was looking blotchy. After I started using this, it literally didn’t happen anymore. I use the Coty Airpsun Loose Face Powderin the shade ‘Translucent’. After using this product for almost a year, and there’s sooo much product left still! This stuff lasts forever, plus it doesn’t cause creasing. It’s perfect if you’re looking to set your makeup, or if you have oily-prone skin. Airpsun Loose Face Powder is a dupe for the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. Don’t get me wrong, the Laura Mercier product is amazing, but the price point is just crazy. The Coty Airpsun Loose Face Powder is just as good and is a fraction of the price. Not to mention the Coty Face Powder is so much more product – 2.3 oz, vs the 1oz Laura Mercier Setting Powder.
Blush
Dupe: Milani Baked Blush$7
Full-Price: Nars Orgasm Blush$30
Can you believe up until a year ago I never used blush? I was always scared of looking like a clown. lol. Anyone else ever feel that way? This Milani Baked Blushin the shade Luminoso is the perfect dupe for the Nars Orgasm Blush but the real reason I love it is so much is because you definitely don’t have to worry about the clown-ish look. It’s glowy and the perfect amount of pink, without it being TOO pink. It’s super pigmented, which means you have to use less of it to achieve better results. More pigmented means less product, and a more salon achieved affect. With the Milani Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso you can get that high-end look with the drugstore price.
Mascara
Dupe: Loreal Telescopic Mascara $8 + Voluminous Lash Paradise $7
Full-Price: Better Than Sex Mascara$24
To achieve the same look at the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, I use a drugstore mascara combo. Before applying both though, I use this primer. If you’re not using primer you definitely should grab this one! This part of my makeup routine helps my mascara stay on for a full 8 hours. I love this one because it’s also a $5 drug-store find that you can buy on amazon prime. After applying my primer, I first apply this mascara to my upper lashes to length them. After doing two coats on each eye, I apply the Voluminous Lash Paradiseon top to make my lashes fuller. Both of these products achieve the same look as the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.
Some other drugstore makeup products I love:
Covergirl point plus eyeliner $4
Okay, I’ve been using this eyeliner FOREVER. Forever as in since high school. So a long time ago! This is one makeup product that I haven’t changed or even had the desire to because it works so well. It stays on all day and I never need to reapply. I use the shade 200 black oynx.
NYX high definition finishing powder $6
Until a couple months ago, I never knew what a finishing powder is. I had used a setting spray, and setting powder, but never a finishing power. Now, I always use this drugstore finishing powder from NYX after applying my face makeup. If you’re like I was, and have no idea what a finishing powder is, it decreases oil build up and shine in your t-zone. It also helps set your foundation for longer. I use it in the shade translucent!
NYX butter glosses $3.50 – Fortune Cookie Butter Gloss+ Crème Brulee Butter Gloss
I have nothing bad to say about these products! After discovering NYX butter gloss a couple months ago, I haven’t been able to stop using them! Not only are they less than $4, but you can also get them on amazon prime. Fortune Cookie and Crème Brurlee are two of my favorite colors from the NYX butter gloss collection. Not only do the shades work on literally every skin tone, but they aren’t sticky!
Happy Saturday friends! What are your favorite makeup drugstore dupes?
